Meet Frank Silva

Frank is the Founder and Managing Partner of Silva Law Firm, P.A. Immediately following law school, Frank worked as an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office. He then entered private practice, where he gained extensive experience handling medical liability, toxic tort, and construction defect litigation. Frank has been a frequent guest lecturer in his areas of practice and has worked as an adjunct professor on Construction Law and Torts Law at the Florida International University Legal Studies Institute. He is fluent in Spanish.

During the 16 years immediately before establishing Silva Law Firm, Frank worked as in-house General Counsel for Shoma Group, where he represented Shoma in the purchase, development, lease and/or sale of commercial and residential properties, including the following:

Whenever it becomes necessary, Frank also handles litigation and trial of disputes. His work during the past 30 years included helping his Clients navigate through complex litigation, the Great Recession, the COVID Pandemic, and other challenges along the way toward achieving favorable outcomes. Frank’s extensive experience and desire to help others is what led him to establish his own firm in the heart of Coral Gables.

  • Frank currently serves as Immediate Past Chair of the Ethics Advisory Committee for the Miami-Dade County School Board (2011-Present). He is also Former Chair of a Florida Bar Grievance Committee (2000-2003), and is a current member of the 21st Century Schools Bond Advisory Committee for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Advisory Board for St. Thomas School of Law, the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, and the Coral Gables Bar Association.

  • Represented Owner/Developer in the recapitalization and reorganization of 48-acre mixed-use project during lender liability and foreclosure litigation, resulting in a favorable outcome.

    Represented Owner/Developer in recapitalization and reorganization of a commercial project consisting of a 281,623 square foot Class A office building during a contested foreclosure action, resulting in a favorable outcome.

    Represented Owner/Developer in the recapitalization and reorganization of a 273-acre residential project, resulting in a favorable outcome via creation of joint venture with another developer.

    Represented Owner/Developer in lender liability action against one of the country’s largest lenders related to a $300 million property in Las Vegas, Nevada, resulting in an amicable resolution.

    Represented four Florida companies in the successful recovery of $866,250 in assets and funds which had fallen victim to a Ponzi scheme in Albany, New York. S.E.C. v. McGinn Smith.

    Represented Owner/Developer in a class action brought by homeowners against the builder regarding construction defect related issues, resulting in an amicable resolution.

    Represented condominium associations regarding construction defect claims, maintenance issues and overall operation of the association in accordance with Florida law.

    Represented one of the country’s largest REITs in the defense of class actions by Miami Beach tenants asserting multiple claims related to construction defects and indoor mold, resulting in an amicable resolution.
